The seal button is greyed out
That is intended, and it is the central rule of the app. A chapter cannot be sealed on the day it was opened. Draw, write your reflection, and come back tomorrow — the button becomes available at midnight.
Chapter 0, the Fool, is the exception and seals immediately. The Fool is the raw material, before the work begins, so the rule does not apply to it.
If the button is still greyed out the next day, check that you have written something in the reflection field. A chapter cannot be sealed empty.
Can I turn on a reminder?
Yes. Journey ▸ ⋯ ▸ Reminders. When a chapter is waiting to be sealed you will get one notification the following morning at 9am. It is cancelled the moment you seal the chapter, and there are no other notifications of any kind.
I paid, but the chapters are still locked
Tap Journey ▸ ⋯ ▸ Restore purchase, or "Restore purchase" on the unlock screen. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account that made the original purchase.
The unlock is a one-time non-consumable purchase, so it is tied to your Apple Account and works on every device you own at no extra cost.
Can I turn off reversed cards?
Journey ▸ ⋯ ▸ Reversals. Turning it off affects future draws only — readings already recorded keep the orientation they were drawn with.
Where is my journal kept? Is it backed up?
On your device, inside the app's own storage. It is never uploaded anywhere, and I cannot see it.
It is included in an encrypted iPhone backup, whether to iCloud or to a computer. If you delete the app, the journal goes with it. There is currently no export — if that matters to you, please say so, because requests are how features get prioritised.
Can I start over?
Journey ▸ ⋯ ▸ Reset progress. This clears every sealed chapter, every reflection and every saved reading. It cannot be undone.
Your purchase is not affected. Your reminder and reversal settings are kept.
Can I redraw a chapter?
No. Each chapter draws once. This is deliberate — a draw you can repeat until you like the answer is not a draw.
Is the artwork AI-generated?
Yes, and I would rather you heard it from me. The seventy-eight card images were generated with an AI image model from a written specification for each card, covering composition, symbolism, palette and an explicit list of what to avoid.
The symbolic system, the card meanings, the chapter writing and the design are human work. If AI imagery is something you would rather not buy, that is a completely reasonable position and I would rather you knew before paying than after.
Refunds
Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too. Use reportaproblem.apple.com. I have no ability to issue a refund myself, though I am glad to help if something is broken.
Accessibility
The app is not yet where it should be on VoiceOver and larger Dynamic Type sizes. If you hit something unusable, please tell me what and where — that kind of report is genuinely useful and gets acted on.
